You'll Never Go Wrong with High Quality Sports Gear

Tips for Finding High Quality Eyewear for Different Sports

Finding sports gear is tricky. You have a lot of brands to choose from, manufacturing techniques to consider, materials used to breakdown, and the overall style to check.

All of these things must be considered before you purchase any gear. Then you've also got the price to think about. You want to buy high-quality gear, but you don't want to break your wallet for a pair of gloves.

The line between quality and pricing is difficult to locate. It's even more difficult if you don't know what gear is the most important. People who are new to sports or extreme sports often don't realize how much gear is used. They think about balls and helmets, but forget about mouth guards, gloves, and goggles.

All gear is important. Quality is important for all gear. Below are a few more tips you should keep in mind when you're shopping for new sports gear.

Do You Value Your Sunglasses?

Sunglasses are a relatively small piece of equipment. Many who still use them on a daily basis overlook their importance; those people think that all sunglasses are created equal. It's not until they try a pair of high-quality polarized lenses for themselves that they realize some sunglasses are actually much better than the others.

Sunglasses are beneficial in some sports and you won't see them in others. You won't wear sunglasses when you're up to bat or you're about to throw that touchdown pass. You do wear sunglasses when hang gliding, whitewater kayaking, snowboarding, or skiing. Ask those people how important a high-quality pair of sunglasses is and they'll inform you quickly.

What constitutes a high-quality pair of sunglasses? First, they should be polarized. They are extremely popular with boaters and fishermen who spend a lot of time around the water in the sun.

Not only do they dramatically block the rays of light that would enter your eyes, but they also reduce the effects of glare such as eyestrain. Skiers, bikers, and golfers all rely on high-quality polarized sunglasses as well.

It's also a good idea to wear wraparound sunglasses. The last thing you want is your expensive pair of sunglasses falling into the water or under your bike wheel. Wraparound sunglasses utilize a strap that can hold the sunglasses to the side of your head. The strap is usually removable, but it's not recommended.

Finally, you'll also have the option of lens color, but that's more of a personal decision. However, it is shown that darker colored sunglasses work better in brighter environments and yellow sunglasses are a better choice on days with clouds overhead.

High Quality Eye Gear for Air Sports

Buying high-quality gear should always be a primary concern. When is high-quality gear more important than ever? How about when you're jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet above sea level? A piece of faulty gear at that time could lead to serious injuries and even death.

The parachute is the obvious train of thought when you're talking about important skydiving gear, but it's not the only thing protecting you in the sky. Your goggles are another extremely important piece of gear that protects you from damage as you're falling from sky.

Falling from an airplane pushes the body to extremely high velocities and speed. Wearing something that is uncomfortable ruins your view, or wearing a gear that can't handle the pressure ruins an otherwise amazing jump. Visibility is a very common problem with poorly made goggles.

4Kicks offers lightweight skydiving goggles that are specially designed for high-velocity sports. Kroop Goggles rely on an elastomer instead of foam. Elastomer gives much more comfort and superior flexibility. Comfortable goggles are important because you don't want to be trying to move them or readjust them as you're diving.

Kroop Goggles can protect your sensitive eyes from any debris you might encounter as you dive. This doesn't happen often, but it does happen. The goggles also have full UV protection that can guard your eyes from the sun’s damaging UV rays, which tend to be significantly stronger at higher altitudes.

Kroop Goggles have a strap attachment on the side so you are assured that your goggles fit well under your helmet.

Hang gliding is another activity that requires high performance eyewear. The goggles or sunglasses of your choice should be able to give you a good visibility while you’re taking off, in the air, or landing.

4Kicks’ wraparound protective goggles are flexible and will perfectly fit because they conform to the shape of your face. These goggles also have vents with anti-fog holes to keep your vision clear.

Their goggle sunglasses, on the other hand, have hydrophobic lens coating that eliminates fogging. The lenses come in colors for various needs and conditions. Grey sunglasses are used for bright, sunny condition. The amber ones work best in medium light conditions. Both grey and amber lenses are polarised to reduce glare. Clear sunglasses are used in dark conditions.

Both protective goggles and goggle sunglasses can protect your eyes from flying debris like dirt, sand, bugs, and from the harmful rays of the sun.

Now all you have to do is choose between Kroop Goggles and Spex for your next hang gliding experience.

High Quality Eye Gear for Dry Land Sports

Abseiling, rappelling, climbing, hiking, and skating are sports that open up a new world of exploration. The sunglasses that you need for these activities should have removable head strap that won’t come off as you go up or descend.

4Kicks’ Ocean Tierra De Fuego performance sunglasses come in different lens colors: clear for lowlight conditions, yellow for moderate light conditions, and dark or grey lenses for bright, sunny days.

And because these glasses suit any weather condition, the lenses are vented to avoid fogging. UV protection is another feature these sunglasses have so you will no loner have to worry about the harmful rays of the sun that can cause cataracts and macular degeneration.

If you’re into BMX racing, motocross, mountain biking, running, and triathlon… we’ve got you covered. These sunglasses do not only protect your eyes, they also stay in place (even if you’re upside down), and are quite stylish.

Aside from helmets, armor, gloves, kneepads, elbow pads, and boots that you often use for some of these sports, you also need a performance eyewear to keep your eyes protected from various elements.

Whether you’re conquering the street, park, vert, trails, or flatland, you need to put on flexible sunglasses that can give you a wide-frame view so that you’ll be able to see clearly what’s coming.

4Kicks has three high quality sunglasses for the activities that we mentioned above: 100% Racecraft Cobalt Blue, Smith Fuel V2 Sweat-X Black Batik, and Smith Pivloc V2 Max.

High Quality Eye Gear for Snow Sports

We got what you need for snowboarding, skiing, or snowmobiling. 4Kicks snow sports goggles do not need to be adjusted or defogged especially when you need to make a few big turns on the mountain.

The goggles are spherical in shape to imitate the shape of your eyes so you could have the best vision in all directions. The lenses are also hydrophobic, which means that they repel water.

The lenses these goggles have also come in different colors to adapt to various light conditions. That is why, these lenses are interchangeable so you can easily and quickly switch them as conditions change. There are eight magnets that secure the lenses that’s why even if they can be interchanged, they won’t come off.

4Kicks has Anon M2 Pollard Pro Goggles, Spex, and Zeal Z3 GPS Live. All of which have UV protection so you can fully enjoy and get around in the winter.
